There are many products that can reduce sensitivity and pain caused by thermal changes. Many toothpastes (Sensodyne®, Crest® sensitivity, Colgate® sensitive, etc.) have products that help to "desensitize" the tooth and sometimes even stimulate the formation of a protective layer to block the sensitivity. Often times these products take up to 2 months to produce a result.
